Understanding the principles behind transformation

I work across technology, education and enterprise, helping people and organisations understand complex problems, develop capability and turn ideas into useful change.

AT ITS CORE, ALL PRINCIPLE.

The idea behind the work

I am interested in what sits beneath an outcome. Why does a transformation programme struggle after the technology has been delivered? Why can two people receive the same lesson and develop different levels of understanding? Why does a promising business idea fail to become something customers use?

These questions have followed me from civil engineering and teaching into product, digital transformation and entrepreneurship. I explore them through practice, writing and the businesses I am building.

Experience in complex systems

My work has taken me across public services, healthcare, retail and funding. I have worked on digital services, product direction, legacy modernisation, contact centre change, data-informed decisions and organisational ways of working.

That experience keeps my thinking grounded in the practical realities of delivery: competing needs, dependencies, operational constraints and decisions that affect people.

What I am building

Building creates a useful test of ideas. Customer needs, cost, adoption and delivery make assumptions visible.

Speaking and conversation

I contribute to conversations about technology, capability, enterprise and the principles that shape human behaviour. I am interested in audiences willing to examine their assumptions and connect ideas to practical decisions.
